INTRODUCTION OF COMPUTER

The term computer is derived from the word 'Compute'. To compute means to calculate. Therefore the term 'computer' can logically be applied to any calculating device.

A computer can be defined as an electronic device that operates on data, analyzes it and then applies a predefined set of instructions to it to produce some kind of output. In case of banking applications, when the operator feeds your request to enter some money in your account which is already existing in the bank then that much amount of money is added. The new bank balance is the output generated by the computer. In case of computers data is transferred from one part to another through electronic circuits such as wire, switches and circuits.

More accurately, a computer is an electronic device that enters the data as input, processes the data and stores it as per user's requirement and provides us the required instructions as output with high speed and accuracy. It can perform mathematical and non-mathematical operations. The input is entered into the computer through an input device like keyboard and output is received through output device (printer, monitor etc.)
